I am looking for a new job and was wondering how prospective employers inquire about me without setting off alarms with my current employer that I may be leaving. This is assuming that prospective employers at least call my HR for basic stats on me.
What kind of questions does HR answer? I know in the recent past employers have, for liability concerns, shied away from reviews per se and only answer questions in regards to salary, tenure, one's position, etc. Is this true? How much does HR reveal in these types of interviews?
How should one conduct themselves in an exit interview? Should I keep it to last paycheck and a handshake? I'm not a fan of my company and its ethics and don't feel like answering any questions such as ';did you like it here'; etc.
Can you recommend any job sites where there is a function that allows the job hunter to prevent their current employer from finding their resume? I know hot jobs or Monster had this feature at one time, but that was 6 years ago.
